There are plenty of ways to turn a picture into a PDF on any device, but not all methods are equally convenient, secure, or free from limitations. In this guide, we’ll tell you about the fastest and safest ways to convert JPG to PDF, whether you’re online or offline.

How to Convert JPG to PDF: The Fastest Method

If you have Internet access, the best way is to use a free online tool or app. There are plenty of options available, and all of them are simple to use: enter a website, click the Converter button, select your files (or drag and drop them), and confirm your choice.

However, some of these tools have restrictions, such as daily download limits, watermarks on converted files, or even privacy issues. You never know who exactly may have access to your documents (or personal data if signing in is required), when you upload them to a third-party service. That’s why it’s always safer and more convenient to use trusted tools.

1. Open the app.

How to Convert JPG to PDF on Mac

On a Mac, you can do it using the Preview menu. 

1. Open your image.
2. Click Menu in the top-left corner, then choose Export as PDF.
3. In the Save As box, name your PDF file. Choose its location in the Where menu.
4. Click Save.

How to Convert JPG to PDF on iPhone

There are two fast methods to do this on iOS.

Option A.

1. Find the JPG file in the Photos app and open it.
2. Tap Share—Print.
3. Tap the Share button in the top-right corner. Your iPhone will automatically convert your file into PDF.
4. Now you can either share it straight away or save it to Files.

However, this method has one drawback. It may add white margins at the top and/or bottom of the file, making it appear as if the image is placed on a sheet of paper. But if you prefer a classic, printed-photo look, this might actually become a feature rather than a bug.

Option B.

If you need a perfect PDF copy of your image without a printed-photo look, you may use the iScanner tool to convert a JPG to PDF.

How to Convert JPG to PDF on Android

Android’s tool called Photos, which serves as the default gallery app, can also be used to turn a picture into a PDF.

1. Open your image with the Photos app (it should be set as a default viewer).
2. Tap Menu (three dots in the top-right corner).
3. Select Convert to PDF. Your smartphone will automatically convert it to PDF.
4. Choose where to save the file. By default, the device will suggest saving it to Google Drive. If you want to keep it on your device, you may need to download a PDF viewer from Google Play.

How to Convert JPG to PDF on PC 

There are also two ways to do this on Windows. 

If the file is stored on your computer,

1. Open it in the Photos app.
2. Click Print.
3. In the Printer menu, choose Microsoft Print to PDF.
4. Click Print.
5. Name your file and choose its location.

If your picture is on Google Drive, there’s no need to download it.

1. Open the image on Google Drive.
2. Click Print, then choose Save as PDF.
3. Name your file and choose its destination.
