No Accidental Data Loss: Trash Folder Is Now in iScanner

If you accidentally deleted something important in iScanner, you’ll be glad to know that you can restore it with a few taps because the app now has a Trash Folder. Everything you delete will be stored there until you decide to delete it permanently. Here’s a brief step-by-step on how to access, use, or disable the Trash Folder in the iScanner app.

What Does Trash Folder in iScanner Have in Store for You?

Well, all your deleted files, of course! But apart from that, the Trash Folder has some features you might like:

  • Search. If you have a large number of files, simply type the file name into the search bar and find it in no time even if it was inside a deleted folder.
  • Unlimited storage time. The files you delete will remain in the Trash Folder indefinitely so that you can be sure you can restore any of them whenever. That is unless you decide to delete them permanently.
  • Easy file management. Files are sorted by recency and you can select as many as you need at once by tapping on them. You can also see the thumbnails for easy navigation.
  • Sync. Trash Folder and all its contents, just like your other files in the app, are available on any of your devices regardless of the platform—all you need to do is log in with your iScanner account.
  • Reminders. Once a month, the Trash Folder will remind you that it’s not empty.

How to Access the Trash Folder in iScanner

  1. Go to settings by tapping the profile icon in the bottom right corner.
  2. In the settings, find the Trash Folder bar and tap it.
  3. You’ll see all your deleted files sorted by recency with the most recent at the top.

How to Restore Deleted Files in iScanner

  1. Open the Trash Folder as described above.
  2. Find the file you wish to restore.
  3. Tap three dots underneath the thumbnail and choose Restore from the list.

How to Delete Files Permanently

  1. Open the Trash Folder from the settings.
  2. Find the file you wish to delete permanently. You can select multiple files—tap the check mark underneath the search bar first and then the files you want to delete.
  3. Next, tap the trash can icon at the bottom. All done!

How to Empty the Folder

The Trash Folder in iScanner is not a ticking time bomb that will destroy everything once the timer runs out—you have full control over when you want to empty it, which is great. But it also means that you might want to empty it once in a while just to make space. We’ve set monthly reminders that will let you know if your Trash Folder contains files. Whenever you wish to empty the Trash Folder, open it and tap the broom icon underneath the search bar.

How to Disable the Trash Folder

If for some reason you don’t want your deleted files to be stored in the app, you can always disable it from the settings: open the folder and tap the power button underneath the search bar.

Manage your digital space on your terms, don’t worry about accidental deletions, and enjoy the freedom to restore what you need when you need it!
